If you have lost your holiday music that I gave you at the end of last year (and that I asked you to keep for this year), you can purchase new music. Tunes you should still have are: Deck the Hall, Grinch, Ding Dong and Hanukkah Holiday.

7th Grade Orchestra:

6th Grade Orchestra:
Remember that your practice card is due any time Monday or Tuesday by 9am.
For the week starting on August 31, practice time total is 45 minutes. Be sure to mark your practice time on your card every day.
There will be a parts quiz on Wednesday over instrument and bow parts. You will be expected to spell all the words correctly.
Work on your bow hand on the pencil and the bow.

Welcome to Orchestra at Eastwood Middle School

Please remember to check out this blog to keep current with assignments, playing tests and announcements for the upcoming year. I know it is going to be a great year of music-making!

All violinists and violists should plan on bringing their instruments to school on Thursday. We will begin playing that day. All cellists and bassists can bring in their home instruments to be tuned anytime during the next week. Please put it by the white board in the orchestra room.

8th Grade Orchestra:
Your first playing test will be on Wednesday, August 19
all violins - Variations, 13-28
violas - Variations, 40-58
cellos - Variations, 51-69
basses - Variations, 40-50

7th Grade Orchestra:
Your first playing test will be on Thursday, August 18
all violins - North Country Legend, 16-31
violas - North Country Legend, 1-15
cellos and basses - 16-31

6th Grade Orchestra:
If you have not gotten your instrument yet, you need to have it by Monday, August 17. If you need information about how to obtain an instrument, please call me at school, 254-5588, ext. 125.
