Week of September 7, 2009

Extra Credit Question:
What President of the United States played the violin?
Email Ms. Imboden the answer at cimboden@msdwt.k12.in.us for 5 extra credit points.
8th Grade Orchestra:
Be able to play and write:
D and G Major scales - 2 octaves, d natural minor
At this point you should be able to play all of Variations, Sinfonia, and the holiday tunes. Find the measures that give you trouble and play them 5 times every day. You will hear improvement. Check out edline and see what your grade is. If you are missing assignments, find out how to make them up. Remember, practice cards can not be made up but you can practice more time each week and receive some extra credit points, which will offset a missing practice card.

7th Grade Orchestra:
Be able to play and write:

begin work on Enchanted Wizard

This week you will need to practice 1 hour for an A in practicing.

Mary Had Little Lamb
Check your posture in a mirror. How do you look? Think about weight of the arm on the bow and sinking into the string.
Play your pieces for your family. If they write a note telling me you performed for them, I will give you 5 extra credit points.
Go through your flashcards 3 times every day. Ask a family member to quiz you.
